The story of the house starts from the
beginning of the 20th century when “nonno Zaverio” decided to build
a house on the beach. He was the miller of the village and used the same
material that was used to build the new mill. The villagers thought that the
miller had become insane, nobody builds house on sand! But it seems that nonno
Zaverio knew what he was doing: today the house stands on the best place of the
town.
Later the building has been extended and today
it has 3 floors. The middle one, which consists of five apartments, belongs to
Saverio Donnini.
In the first floor lives Saverio’s brother
Vasco, a real sea dog, and his son David with his family.
Donnini family is very international.
Castiglione region was a popular tourist attraction already on the 60s’. That
was also when Saverio’s future wife from Finland decided to spend her holidays
on the beaches of Castiglione. Vasco’s wife comes from England.
